Who we are

The controller of the data described here is the owner of the Sofaflick service, named in the Terms of use. Contact us at support@sofaflick.com.

What stays on your computer

Sofaflick runs on your computer and talks to your TV on your own network. The posts and videos you play, their addresses, and the names and network addresses of your devices are not sent to us.

What we process

Licence check. A random installation id, the app version, your operating system and how many sends you used. We use it to apply the free trial and your licence. The legal basis is performing our agreement with you and our interest in running the product (Article 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). We keep it while the installation is in use and delete it 24 months after its last use.

Purchase. When you pay, Stripe handles your card details and we never see them. We receive your email, the amount, the currency and the payment status. The legal basis is the agreement and our legal duties, such as accounting. We keep it as long as the law requires.

Restoring a purchase. If you ask to restore a purchase, we use the email you enter to send a one time code. The code is stored only as a keyed hash, expires after 10 minutes and is deleted once used.

Anonymous reports, only if you allow them. The maker and model of your TV, the type of error, the video size, the app version and your operating system. Reports carry no installation id, no links, no device names and no addresses. The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time in the Sofaflick menu. We keep reports for 12 months.

Technical data. Cloudflare, which delivers our service, processes IP addresses to deliver and protect it. We do not store IP addresses ourselves. To limit abuse we store a keyed hash of the address that expires within hours.

This website

This website sets no cookies and has no advertising trackers. It counts visits with Umami, a privacy friendly tool that runs on a server we operate ourselves. It sets no cookies, does not store IP addresses and keeps nothing that identifies you. It respects the Do Not Track setting of your browser. The legal basis is our interest in understanding how the website is used (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Who helps us

Cloudflare, Inc. (hosting and database; the database is created in a data center region in Eastern Europe), Stripe (payments) and Resend (emails with restore codes). Some of these providers are based in the United States. Transfers rely on the safeguards required by the GDPR, such as standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.

What we do not do

We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising, for profiling, or for anything unrelated to making Sofaflick work. We do not transfer it to others except to the providers above, to do what is described here, or when the law requires.

Your rights

You can ask us for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing and a copy in a common format, and you can object to processing based on our legitimate interest. Write to support@sofaflick.com. You can also complain to the supervisory authority; in Poland that is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).

If this policy changes in a way that matters to you, we will update this page and the date above.
